This morning, a heartbreaking scene unfolded when a tiny newborn baby monkey, a pigtail macaque, was discovered in the hands of a local farmer who planned to sell it for money. The helpless baby was only a few days old, its eyes barely open, and its body still trembling from weakness and fear. Wrapped in a small piece of cloth, the baby monkey clung tightly to anyone who tried to touch it, desperate for warmth and safety.
Fortunately, kind rescuers intervened just in time. When they heard that a farmer was trying to sell a wild baby monkey, they immediately went to investigate. What they found was truly sad — the little monkey was lying in a basket, crying softly, clearly missing its mother. The farmer explained that he had captured the baby after finding it alone near the forest. However, rescuers knew that it was likely the mother had been nearby, possibly scared away or even harmed.
Without hesitation, the rescue team convinced the farmer to hand over the baby monkey. They explained that keeping or selling wild animals is not only cruel but also illegal. After a long talk, the farmer finally agreed and gave the newborn to the team. The tiny pigtail monkey was then safely transported to a rescue center, where it received milk, warmth, and gentle care.
At the center, the baby slowly began to feel safe again. Caretakers wrapped it in a soft blanket and fed it using a small milk bottle. Though it was still weak, its little hands started gripping tightly, showing signs of hope and strength. The rescuers promised to give the baby a second chance at life — to grow healthy, loved, and free from harm.
This rescue reminds us all that wild animals belong in the forest, not in cages or markets. Every life matters, no matter how small.
