Heard “Bath”… Instant Sad – Baby Monkey Cici

The moment Baby Monkey Luci heard the word “bath,” everything changed. Just seconds before, she had been happily playing on the floor, rolling around with her favorite little toy and making the cutest chirping sounds. Her eyes were bright, her tiny hands busy exploring everything around her. But then… someone said it.

“Bath time!”

Luci froze.

Her playful movements stopped immediately, and she slowly lifted her head as if she couldn’t believe what she had just heard. Her big round eyes blinked twice. Surely, she thought, she must have misunderstood. Maybe they said “snack” or “hug” or “milk.” But no. The water was already running in the background.

Instant sadness.

Her tiny mouth turned downward, and she let out the softest, most dramatic little whimper. It wasn’t loud crying yet — just a protest. A warning. She looked around, searching for an escape route. Maybe if she stayed very still, no one would notice her.

But Cici noticed.

As soon as Luci saw Cici walking toward her with the towel in hand, the sadness grew bigger. She quickly scooted backward, trying to hide behind a pillow. Her small hands clung to the fabric like it was her safe place. Bath time was not her favorite thing in the world.

She started making those adorable complaining sounds — half talk, half cry — as if she was explaining all the reasons why today was absolutely not a good day for a bath. Maybe she wasn’t that dirty. Maybe tomorrow would be better. Maybe baths should be canceled forever.

Cici gently picked her up, and Luci’s face showed pure betrayal. How could this happen? She leaned into Cici’s chest but kept glancing toward the bathroom with worried eyes. The closer they got, the more dramatic her expressions became. Her tiny eyebrows scrunched together, and she let out a louder cry, hoping it would change the situation.

But once her little toes touched the warm water, something surprising happened.

She paused.

The water wasn’t so bad. It was warm and gentle. Cici carefully poured water over her back, speaking softly and reassuring her. Luci’s cries slowly turned into curious sniffles. She blinked and looked down at the tiny ripples in the tub.

Maybe bath time wasn’t the worst thing ever.

By the end, she was calm, wrapped in a cozy towel, looking clean and fluffy. The sadness had completely disappeared. In fact, she even looked proud of herself.

But next time she hears the word “bath”… the instant sadness will probably return.
