Today, Baby Monkey Cici did something so funny and so familiar that I couldn’t stop laughing. She sat right in front of me, stared straight into my eyes, and started making a series of very serious sounds. They weren’t cries. They weren’t happy squeaks either. They sounded… judgmental. After a few minutes, her energy shifted. The “complaining” slowed down, her voice softened, and she finally crawled into my lap. The lecture was over. She rested her head against me, calm again, like nothing had happened.
